The Jewish artist who is involved in the exploration of his self is involved in the entire gamut of existence, for the man contains all of the creation. Furthermore his artwork affects the entire creation for he moves all the worlds, for good, or, Heaven-forbid, the opposite. Therefore, in his enterprise he meets all the aspects of his being and all the commandments of the Torah as they are connected to these aspects. This is true of any artistic creation, indeed, of all man’s actions, words and thoughts; but this is one of the great benefits of art-making when the artist focuses on this reality—his connection to all the world, for he can truly affect change for better in himself and in the wold in a powerful way.
